چکیده

In the present study, we investigated response decisions made under conditions of incomplete information in rats. In Experiment 1, rats were trained on either a positive patterning (PP; A-, B-, AB+) or a negative patterning (NP; A+, B+, AB-) instrumental lever-press discrimination. Subjects that had learned an NP discrimination responded less to Cue Awhen Cue B was covered at test. The cover did not, however, affect test responses to Cue A in the PP condition. In Experiment 2, rats received concurrent training on both PP and NP discriminations. After concurrent training, responses to Cue Awere different with B covered versus uncovered for both NP and PP discriminations. We discuss possible accounts for why exposure to a nonlinearly soluble discrimination (NP) may have affected sensitivity to cue ambiguity produced by the cover. These results have interesting implications for representational processes engaged in problem solving.

Effects of Insulin on Fibronectin Alterations in Sciatic Nerve of Diabetic Rats-A Brief Report

Objective: Alteration in the basement membrane proteins maybe associated with diabetic neuropathy. Fibronectin is one of the most important components of peripheral nerves basement membrane. In this study we investigated the effects of insulin administration on prevention of alteration in fibronectin contents of sciatic nerve in diabetic rats. Materials and Methods: Twenty-four wistar rats wer...

The Effect of 12 Weeks Resistance Training on FOXO1 Expression in Hepatocytes, Glucose and Insulin in Diabetic Rats- A Brief-Report

Objective: In diabetic patients, hyperglycemia is associated with impaired FOXO signaling pathways in liver cells. This study aimed to determine the effect of resistance training on FOXO1 expression in liver hepatocytes and fasting glucose levels in type 2 diabetic rats. Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, type 2 diabetes induced by intraperitoneal injection of nicotinamide-STZ ...

Effects of Vanadyl Sulphate on Spermatogenesis in Male Rats

Background: It is known that vanadyl compounds are capable of alleviating hyperglycemia in streptozotocin induced diabetic rats. Objective: To examine the effect of vanadyl sulphate (VS) on spermatogenesis of male rats. Methods: Male rats (n=10) were administered 32 mg/kg/day of VS orally and 50 mEq/l NaCl (as drinking water) for one month.  Meanwhile, 11 male rats, the control group, received ...

Effect of Acute and Chronic Heat Exposure on Frequency of EEG Components in Different Sleep-Wake State in Young Rats

The recent literatures indicate that central nervous system (CNS) is highly vulnerable to systemic hyperthermia induced by whole body heating on conscious animals. In the present study, cerebral electrical activity or EEG (electroencephalogram) following exposure to high environmental heat has been studied in moving rats. Rats were divided into three group (i) acute heat stress-subjected to a s...
